The Space Between Words

The Dancer, Oil 10x10
What isn't said is often more telling than what is.  The space between words in speech, the air between objects, and the rests between notes give a rhythm to whatever it is they are representing.  The cadence of life is not just in the busyness that gets things done but in the rest that allows enjoyment and reflection.

I've been thinking about space.  In my choice of artistic expression, painting, "negative space" is about the areas in between objects.  When one focuses on that space to render an object it is likely to be much more accurate than if you focus on the perceived thing.

Love is often about what sneaks up on you unknowingly.  Life slips in between the rhythm of our days, whispering its gentle messages.  The empty cave makes room for Light.
